Uttermost to make rug debut at High Point Market by Alex Lemonde-Gray

Uttermost will introduce this flat-weave rug in deep brown with lattice design at the fall High Point Market.

"Customers have been asking us for rugs for years and I think they will be pleased," said Mac Cooper, the company's president. "Rugs have been a top priority for many of us since last year, and this will be the biggest launch we have ever made into any new category."

Uttermost will launch a diverse line of rugs in its showroom, International Home Furnishings Center C-448, including flat weaves in bright colors, wool and viscose hand-tufted rugs, and hand-knotted rugs in soft patinas.

Rug designs reflect current trends, with most falling into the transitional style category, the company said. Uttermost has updated traditional designs with cleaner patterns and current colors, according to a press release.

To support dealer sales of its new rug offerings, Uttermost offers several rug display towers and swatch and mini-swatch programs. According to the company, these point-of-purchase tools are designed to minimize dealer investment and floor space requirements while maximizing return.

All rugs introduced at market will either be already in stock or shipping from the company's manufacturing partners, Cooper said. The rugs will be stocked in the company East Coast and West Coast distribution facilities.
